A lot of my friends use iCal or other digital calendars, but I find these almost impossible to keep track of. I'm always forgetting to put things in, or leaving my phone at home, so they aren't practical. Around the end of my Junior year, I heard about the Erin Condren Life Planner. Holy cows, guys. I have found the holy grail of planners.
I found Erin Condren on Instagram, and fell in love immediately. The only thing I wasn't so in love with? The cost. At a base price of $50.00 with a minimum of $5.00 for every add-on, this planner gets to be pretty expensive relatively quickly. I had designed my perfect planner, added custom stickers, and by the time it was finished, I had an $85.00 planner in my cart. Yikes!
I was hemming and hawing for a solid three months about this planner. They are released every June, and run from July of that year until December of the next year. You can also purchase them in January, and they run for 12 months. I decided to go with the former option so it would fit better with my school schedule. One of the women I work with is a sorority sister with Erin, and they both attended the DG Convention in early June. Erin had given everyone a $25 gift card, and the woman I work with passed hers on to me! I knew this must have been a sign - I ordered my life planner the next day. I got this one in a custom pink & gray color way.
It took a few weeks due to the heavy order volume and personalization, but when I finally saw it was delivered, I ran to my door after work to unbox it!
Classes weren't yet in session but I still had a few things to put in my planner. Once I got all of my syllabi for classes, I put in all dates for exams, quizzes, papers, and reading that was due. I use a different color for every class, and other colors for the rescue squad, work, and miscellaneous to-dos. I also have a washi tape stash that I use with the custom stickers! Take a peek:
Here's what a typical week of my life looks like:
I absolutely love the layout, the weekly goals & notes section, and the lines at the bottom of the planner to use for daily exercise or meal plans. There's a section in the front to put your contact information, along with a two-page yearly calendar. Every month has a month calendar followed by each week in that month. At the back of the planner there's a folder, notes pages, and a heavy-duty zip lock bag to keep all of your accessories in! The Erin Condren team also sent me gift tags, business cards, and clip-in coils. Each planner comes with pre-printed and blank stickers, and for $5.00 a sheet you can make your own additional stickers!
I definitely won't be using another planner ever again - I love this one way too much! (Oh, and the covers snap on and off, so you can get as many as your heart desires and change them out throughout the year!)
How do you plan your schedule? Do you have any tricks for organizing? What planner do you use?
